A Prime Cost item is an allowance for the supply of a specific item that hasn’t been selected yet.

A Provisional Sum is an allowance for a complete piece of work where the scope isn’t fully defined yet.

You will be provided with a quote prior to the variation or change happening on site.  Only once it has been agreed to will the works on site begin.

Once a "stage" of your build is completed, an invoice will be issued for that work. These stages are determined and agreed upon during the contract stage, prior to any works happening on site.
